So, I'm bit of a radio geekette.
I used to have a boat {ie: a hole in the water into which one throws in money}
There's AIS (Automatic Identification System) used to track boats, kind of like ADS-B (for aircraft)

If I haven't bored you, or you haven't fallen asleep yet,...

Decide to make my own AIS station..to help track boats (free/open source, except I pay for the equipment/internet time)
Not into the $$$ monetary AIS stuff that's out there... I like free for everyone, ..but that's just me..

Tracking here (Lower Mainland)..my "station" is the green circle/tower in Richmond

Wait for the boats to show up.. sometimes delayed a bit
One can zoom/drag the map into almost any street/location, ..it's pretty cool!

Mounted the Raspberry Pi /tuner on the wall this AM (stats went down to 99% today- due to downtime)

/end geekette

Cheers!

You are geeky👍 - 👍 What else u geeky in?
I'll have to make a YIG & YAG T-shirt sometime.. as opposed to the usual Ying & Yang T- shirt? 😊

Have a YIG oscillator (Yttrium Iron Garnet) in an old RF spectrum analyzer.
And a YAG (nd-Yttrium Aluminum Garnet) laser.

Therefore, the geekette T-shirt!? 🤓

Let's just say a few of us are in the same league ;)
