I was doing some makeup the other day, it had been quite a while since i had the time and privacy to do so, and after it was finished i liked how it looked but something was missing. False eyelashes.

It was this moment when i realized the importance of false eyelashes, because after i applied them my whole face went from pretty to beautiful.

They really make a huge difference In how you feel and look after you put them on. So if you ladies out there haven't tried false eyelashes, i implore you to give them a try, you wont be disappointed.

I agree that false eyelashes make a big difference in one's appearance. They can be difficult to apply when you are first learning to use but once you get some experience, application is quick. They can be reused multiple times if cared for. Also use mascara to blend the false lashes with your real lashes.

Thanks to my eye meds I have long thick lashes so I have no need for them. When I have mascara on my lashes brush the lens of my glasses. That causes me to blink more than usual just women. Love that about them but hate having to be on meds to get it.

I always used magnetic ones. Main thing is to use a felt tipped eyeliner, then top it carefully following the line with a liquid magnetic eyeliner (brush is a bit thicker) and voila, apply the lashes carefully with the longer strands to the outside edge of your eyelid :) took me a while to get used to improving on it but it becomes simpler over time.

I have never tried them. I used to have great lashes and never needed them but now they are tinning out so I will have to get excited and try them out :)

No one has mentioned how they feel. It’s like having butterflies sitting on your eyelids. They look great but the also look and feel great from the wearer’s own perspective. On the rare occasions I can do make up, false lashes are a critical finishing step.

Also I am near sighted so I do much better applying eye make up without glasses on. And I wear contact when I want to look pretty. Which means getting the contacts in my eyes past the false lashes and without producing too many tears to run my liner. And make sure you do nails AFTER the contacts. So much sequencing to be planned before starting the great metamorphosis.

Any one else add smaller lashes to your lower lids for the full on Bambi look? Anyone else use the individual lashes rather than the one piece lashes?

I've never considered using them as my lashes were just fine when i applied my make-up. Then there was that whole scare that some of them were dangerous to use & could potentially lead to eye-sight issues...i'm assuming those were a cheap import & were removed from the shelves once the health risks became public knowledge? One would hope anyway...some of them look really nice....the ones that i don't find appealing are the ones that "drag-queens" use, i find them to look hideous but that's just my opinion...it's good to know there are several options availible & people redy to share their personal experiences with which brands, etc. that seem to work the best or are the easiest to use.

Anyone try aqua lashes. Just add water and apply.

Yes I tried them. They work well if you nail it the first time. If you have to adjust them they are horrible. Between the wetness of your hands and any other eyeliner they will loosen up and fall off... Granted I still have trouble with my big fingers .. I need to get one of those install tools

My DiL has been using some sort of serum on her lashes that make it look like she’s wearing faslsies. Mrs is going to try it. Works on brows too. I’ll post the name if I get it. Apparently it’s a formulation developed originally to treat glaucoma.

I think I am going to try some false eyelashes to go with my Cleopatra outfit. Never tried them yet, though I have a couple of sets, as I've always been a bit afraid of them.

Nothing to be afraid of sweety. I think your going to love the look and the feel of them.

Not for me, have tried - challenging to apply and I prefer just mascara - just too big for me.

This is a bit of an old thread which is interesting as I'm now regularly using eyelashes. Last summer a couple of fellow performers challenged me to try them again, and guess what, I love them! Most of the time I go for a natural look, not the really huge ones I see some (young) women sporting, with the exception of when I'm on stage, then I amp them up a bit.

Those pictured are pretty radical but this is for a stage performance. Funny little story. My wife thought they were pretty strange and weird, but I showed my daughter this pic and she thought they were really cool, then I told her that Mom didn't like them then she "Don't worry, Mom's a square!" Which my wife, the Mom in question heard!
Anyway the reaction at the club to them was great.

boys... keep your eyes closed shut when we makeout.
I have just started playing with these too….They can be frustrating for sure… I bought some tweezer type applicators but that did not help… the only thing that seems to help is trimming them and then bending/curving them before applying … oh and I also apply mascara to my lashes and some lash glue to the falsies before I put them on…. Like all things practice makes perfect… (hopefully)

I bought the same things, tweezer like item but it didn't help me much.
Keep at it and I'm sure you will get there.

I do wear them from time to time.
I am much less adventurous and courageous as you, Amy :-)
I rarely go out so I just usually wear a bit of mascara.
I recently purchased some new adhesive and it works excellent!
